How To Paint A Scalloped Accent Wall

In this post I'll show you the step by step guide for painting scallops on the wall.

Our youngest babies nursery has the main wall accented with Peel & Stick wallpaper from Think Noir wallpaper, in this light feminine peony print. I wanted to fill the blank walls with a little something, while not taking away from the main accent wall.

I decided to use Behr Paint color Roman Plaster, a perfectly light neutral Beige.

First step you'll want to do is grab some painters tape and a level, marking off how high on the wall you want your scallops to be. Making a straight line along the wall/walls will give you the edge to then add your scallops.

After two coats, plus dry time we are ready to add the scallop edge. Using cardboard, cut out a template to the size of scallop you'd like to have. I traced over it with a light pencil. Once you have all of them drawn out, you can move on.

Using a small artist paintbrush, dip in your paint color and trace over the pencil lines. This part is a little slow but I promise its worth it for the perfectly dainty scallops!

I went in with a medium size brush to fill in the remainder of the scallops, again doing two coats. Once its dry you will never know that they were painted separately and it looks amazing!
